About

Your home for campfire stories told by those who’ve lived them.

Echoes of the Hunt was created to reconnect with the roots of hunting and fishing and the people who live it. After years in the industry I wanted to slow down and bring back the heart of it all, the stories, the lessons, and the respect for the land and water. It’s for anyone who feels that pull back to the outdoors, for hunters, anglers, and guides, for those who grew up around campfires and tailgates swapping stories about the one that got away. This is about finding that spark again and passing it on to those who still hear the call of the hunt.

Who am I?

I’m Joe Gross. I’m the voice behind Echoes of the Hunt, and like most people who spend time outdoors, my story doesn’t follow a straight trail.

Hunting and the outdoors have always been part of my life. Not as a checklist or a highlight reel, but as places for reflection, grounding, and connection. Over time, life shifted, priorities changed, and I found myself further from the woods than I expected to be.

Echoes of the Hunt exists because stories matter. The ones that stay with us aren’t always the successful hunts or perfect days. They’re the early mornings, the missed chances, the lessons learned, and the quiet reasons we return season after season.

This podcast isn’t a traditional interview show. It’s a campfire conversation. No scripts. No pressure. Just honest stories from people who live this life and understand what the outdoors gives us, even when we step away for a while.

For me, this show is about reconnecting with the community, the traditions, and the meaning behind them. It’s about remembering why we ever stepped into the woods in the first place.

If you’ve got a story worth telling, there’s a seat here for you.

From the campfire to the field, these are the echoes that stay with us.
